The Africa Foundation Environmental Education Programme is known as Echo for the resonance it has across peoples lives. Africa Foundation in consultation with the communities, education bodies and our partner has designed this Echo programme – that not only exposes communities to the game reserves and seascapes that neighbour them but teaches them about broader environmental topics.
Key messages are brought to life in the classroom through structured and curriculum-integrated conservation lessons followed up with the field- based practical exposure that immerses learners in the ways of the wild. This game drive experience also helps to expose learners to the socio- economic benefits available to them through ecotourism

The Africa Foundation Environmental Education Programme known as Echo because of the resonance it has across peoples lies. Environmental Education is key to engaging communities in the issues and debates around their everyday choices and the impact they have for the environment and conservation.
In our partner communites, the Echo programme has become embedded into the school curriculum through primary and into early secondary school. Our Community and Conservation Rangers support the delivery of environmental education lessons and practical workshops in schools. The school based education is enhanced by experiential field trips into the local conservation areas. These trips are enabled through Africa Foundation’s partnership with andBeyond- the trips are led by qualified guides, who provide students with a memorable and deep learning experience.
