Extensions to the small structure of Benguerra Island Clinic have taken place, increasing the number of consultation rooms and providing a comfortable, shaded waiting area. However, without accommodation on site, medical staff, who come from the mainland town of Vilanculos, have nowhere to reside on the island. It was critical to the success of the clinic, that accommodation was constructed so that access to healthcare could become available 7 days a week on the island.
Thanks to your generosity, the funds were raised in 2019 and the construction of two houses for medical staff is now underway. We expect the project to be complete by May 2020!
