Since its establishment in 1992, it has always been Africa Foundation’s mission to facilitate the empowerment and development of people living alongside protected wildlife areas by forging unique partnerships between conservation initiatives and local communities. In this way, these conservation initiatives become both meaningful and relevant to these communities, a critical outcome where the long-term sustainability of irreplaceable wilderness areas is typically the goal since wildlife is only likely to thrive where local populations experience the benefits of their participation in conservation.
Working in partnership with &Beyond, a number of critical conservation initiatives have been developed, for immediate action against key conservation issues, and to lay the foundations for long term, sustainable conservation activities through environmentally conscious communities.
